Join us on a ninety-minute guided bicycle tour as we pedal past the largest collection of Frank Lloyd Wright-designed homes in the world. We’ll learn about Wright, who changed the course of twentieth century architecture, and look at a wealth of Wright’s signature Prairie Style structures built between 1889 and 1913. Among the homes we’ll see are the famous “Bootleg House,” designed by Wright while he was still working at the firm of Adler & Sullivan, and the Edward H. Cheney House, known as the commission that precipitated an ill-fated love affair between Wright and Mrs. Cheney.

After the tour, we’ll head over to historic Petersen’s Restaurant, Ice Cream Parlour, & Sweet Shoppe, famous for its homemade ice cream and candy. Petersen’s has been in its current quaint location since 1931 and the recipes date back to 1919. Broadcaster Al Roker, WBBM-TV’s Breakfast Club, the Chicago Tribune, and WGN-TV have all visited Petersen’s. Petersen’s chocolate candy is made on premises from fifty-pound chunks of chocolate purchased at Blommer’s River West factory. If you’re not up for dessert, there are sandwiches, salads, and other light bites. We’ll order off the menu and pay our own checks. Chain your bike outside of Oak Park Cyclery, which is just across the street from Petersen’s.
